The Preston Quarry is a large quarry outside of the city of Preston for mining out chalk and coal.
History[]
Started 30 years ago by Halaen Mining and Drilling, the quarry was originally started to help preserve the Cliffs of Preston. The mining company found large deposits of coal deep down, and have struck (only proverbial) gold. Tunnels were discovered underground, but were largely ignored by the company.
Since The Red Ruin[]
The force of The Red Ruin ruptured one wall of the quarry, causing it to flood. Workers attempted to drain the quarry, but were unsuccessful. Much valuable equipment was left in the quarry and is free to be salvaged. The Halaen miners would like their gear back, but the Darrow Mining Corporation might pay a pretty penny to stop any further work from their competitors.
